Civil Celebrant Services

“If there is such a thing as a good marriage,
it is because it resembles friendship
rather than love.” – De Montaigne

Damien Peile will work with you to ensure your wedding celebration is a memorable and special event.

A civil marriage ceremony allows you complete freedom of choice. It is your wedding – you are the reason for and focus of the ceremony.

Damien is an elegible member of the Australian Federation of Civil Celebrants (AFCC) and The Australian Civil Marriage Celebrant Association of Victoria (ACMCV).

Legal Aspects

  • A notice of intention to marry needs to be completed at least one month prior to the wedding date.
  • Divorce papers or death certificate needs to be cited in case of previous marriage.
  • Documentary evidence of identity e.g. birth certificate (if born in Australia) or passport (if born overseas)

Initial Meeting with Celebrant

At your first interview the celebrant will take you through all the steps you need to consider when thinking about your wedding plans.

Renewal of Vows

There are times when a married couple feel it is appropriate to express and renew their love and commitment. These ceremonies are arranged exactly the same as marriage ceremonies. However there are no legal papers to sign.

Same sex couples often wish to use this ceremony to celebrate their love and commitment.

 Other ceremonies include:

  • Namings
  • Commitment Ceremonies
  • Renewal of Vows
  • Funerals
  • Special Events such as house blessings
